Grading System at KSUEL

GRADING SYSTEM AT KSUEL

Following levels of higher professional education exist in the Russian Federation:

Higher professional education, confirmed by giving qualification (degree) of bachelor to the person successfully passed the final attestation.

Higher professional education, confirmed by giving qualification of specialist or master degree to the person successfully passed the final attestation.

Normative time periods of time for educational programs with full-time tuition of higher professional education are as follows: for bachelor degree - 4 years; for specialist qualification - not less than 5 years; for master degree - 2 years.

The list of qualifications (specialties), which could have another standard of the period of time for taking main programs of higher education (bachelor degree programs, programs of the specialities or master degree programs), is established by Ministry of Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

According to Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education of the Russian Federation and on the basis of module-rating evaluation system approved by Academic Council of KSUEL, evaluation of students’ knowledge is implementing as follows:

- «А» excellent – 86-100%;

- «В» good – 77-85%;

- «С» satisfactory – 60-70%;

- «D» unsatisfactory – 0-59%;

- passed – 60-100%;

- failed – 0-59%.

Bachelor degree studies have eight semesters’ duration and confer 240 ECTS credits.

Specialist degree studies have ten semesters’ duration and confer 300 ECTS credits.

Master degree studies have four semesters’ duration and confer 120 ECTS credits.

The ECTS grading scale is based on a percentile statistical distribution, which splits into four percentage segments also called A, B, C, D according to the following table:
